Magdon

The Golden Rule is the only rule: “Whoever has the gold, makes the rules.” And bet your ass that might makes right.

Live free. Laws are shackles. And crime certainly damn well does pay.

If you can steal it, the original owner clearly didn’t care about it enough to keep it.

Power is its own end. Wealth is power.

Network but trust no one if you want to claw your way to the top.

Lies are useful; a reputation as a liar is not.

Governments are just generally the most networked, wealthiest organized crime outfits. The smartest thieves are generally in government.

“Naked a man comes from his mother’s womb,
and as he comes, so he departs.
He takes nothing from his labor
that he can carry in his hand.” — King Solomon

AKA (from Magdon’s perspective): Wealth is meant to be spent. You only live once.

It is better to be feared than loved.

“Organized crime is free enterprise at its freest” — Hank Messick

“Life is nothing but a competition to be the criminal rather than the victim.” — Bertrand Russell

“Criminal: A person with predatory instincts who has not sufficient capital to form a [government]” — adapted from Howard Scott

“Criminals do not die by the hands of the law. They die by the hands of other men.” — George Bernard Shaw

“Behind every great fortune there is a crime.” — Honore de Balzac

The key is to commit crimes so confusing that authorities would be unable to even tell the story. — adapted from Randy K. Milholland.

If you don’t pillage it, but can, it likely just means somebody else will later. Carpe noctem, villains!
